About
A family cooperative,
rooted in Colorado.
Harmony Development Coop was founded by Robin and Shelley on a simple conviction: the most valuable help a builder can offer comes before construction begins — clear thinking about land, light, water, and how a family actually lives.

The founders
Robin & Shelley
Robin came up through the trades — framing, timber, structural repair — and spent two decades learning what mountain weather does to a building over time. Shelley brought the other half: design sensibility, careful planning, and a way of listening to families that turns a wish list into a workable home.
Together they shaped Harmony into something closer to a design studio than a contracting company. Today the work is consulting, conceptual design, and careful remodeling — helping people think clearly before they commit, then doing the hands-on work where our craft adds the most.
Environmental stewardship has been part of the practice from the beginning, long before it was marketable — reclaimed timber, high-performance envelopes, and a habit of designing around the trees rather than through them. Robin's conceptual design work grew directly out of it: buildings that answer to the sun, the slope, and the water before they answer to a style.
What has kept them at it is not the buildings so much as the people. Harmony exists to help families make better decisions — so they create places where they can actually thrive, on land that will still be healthy when their children inherit it.
What we hold to
Craftsmanship
Work that reads as considered from ten feet away and from ten inches away.
Stewardship
The land is a client too. We build to leave it healthier than we found it.
Integrity
Unbiased advice, honest schedules, and honest news when something goes sideways.
Belonging
Homes shaped around the families and the terrain they actually live in.
